DHCare Birdie Evo Mobile Hoist
The DHCare Birdie Evo is a folding mobile hoist designed for safe, comfortable transfers to or from a bed, chair or even the floor. Suitable for both domestic and residential care settings, it folds and unfolds easily without the need for tools.
Birdie Evo Specifications
The Birdie Evo has an overall length of 100cm (39.4″) and an external width of 55cm (21.7″) with the base closed. The internal base width is 46cm (18.1″) closed and 89cm (35″) open, and the base height is 11.5cm (4.5″) at the top of the legs, so it fits easily under beds and around chairs.
It supports a maximum safe working load of 180kg (28 stone) and offers a lifting range of 53cm to 160cm (20.9″ to 63″) from the sling attachment point. It has a turning radius of 170cm (5’7″). The hoist weighs 36kg including the spreader bar, and the heaviest part (the base) weighs just 16.5kg for easier handling when dismantled.
Comfort and Lifting System
The ergonomic lift lets the user be rotated a full 360°, making positioning easier for the carer and reducing anxiety for the user. The high boom keeps space clear for the user even at the highest lifting position, and the curved boom and spreader bar let carers keep eye contact with the user throughout the transfer.
Performance and Handling
An ergonomic push bar and dual 100mm castors make the hoist easy to manoeuvre, and the curved legs help it move around furniture. The redesigned hook lets carers attach slings securely with one hand.
Safety and Practical Features
The Birdie Evo has electric emergency lowering, with up and down control, plus an emergency stop. Both internal and external charging come as standard, and a battery status indicator shows the remaining charge at a glance. The mast detaches from the base without tools for easy transport and storage.
